Bryce Harper and the Nats are struggling in the playoffs.

GET THIS.
A writer named Phil Creed wrote the following in his online blog this week.
Camp Pendleton-based Marine has asked Washington Nationals rookie center fielder Bryce Harper to the Marine Corps Ball, our friends at Marine Corps Times are reporting.
“Congratulations on your recent Divisional Championship!” Lance Cpl. Stephanie Butler posted on Harper’s Facebook page. “Bryce Harper, on November 9th will you go with me to the Marine Corps Ball??”
Butler, 21, is a native of Northern Virginia and a Nats fan, according to NBCWashington.com.
“I think it would be really cool of him,” Butler told the website. “We do so much. We really, really do. The military is really underappreciated. Day in and day out, we give everything we have. It’d be really cool of him to give back.”
You know what else would be cool? Leaving Harper alone as the teenager plays in his first postseason series.
REALLY?
So a professional baseball player who deals with 50,000 screaming fans, coaches directing every move, a moving object flying 100 mph sometimes directly at them, reporters drilling them at every stop is actually distracted during a playoff game with facebook posts?

Dude, Give me a break.
Stephanie and every other man and women who ever fought for our Country put up with far more and the least Bryce can do, whenever he gets the chance is respond. She's certainly earned that.
My two cents.
I support Stephanie's request and posted on Bryce's Facebook to say as much. Here's the link to it.
Here are the links also to not only Mr. Creed's full post but the story in other media outlets so you can make up your own mind.

When Stephanie heard about the negative feedback on her request, she wrote back to me. I'll share her email with you now.
Stephanie's letter
Hey MJ!
Thanks again for all your support. I don't know if you've heard the latest but there was an article published saying that its pretty much my fault the Nationals are losing. You were the first to help me get publicity, and I never expected as much as I got, especially the negative.
As somebody who has dealt with this kind of thing before, any words of wisdom? I feel bad if this article is true, and I really was a distraction. I really just thought it would be cool for two people to hang out for a night who are around the same age but lead completely different lives.
Thanks again for your
support,
Stephanie Butler
I say Stephanie has done NOTHING wrong and should at least get a repsonse. What do YOU think?
Btw, Steph I'd Gladly escort you to the Ball! As for advice, that's what the Like/Unlike button on Bryce Harper's Facebook page is for!!! Love you and all of our military! Best, Michaelj
